Workshop Rebreather 2008
Last year we had a very nice event, not perfect but successful. We met our goal: meet people, get out from virtual diving we usually do over the internet, look each other faces and talk together. We had more than 45 people meeting and diving together, everyone with his own Rebreather. It was fantastic seeing so many rebreathers all together, unfortunately even if we have several photos no one of those give a real picture of the 2007 event. We are doing that again hopefully it will be much more interesting and productive.

The reason for such a workshop
Goal is the same: meet people, gather rebreather people together. Meet people who share the same passion to share experiences and knowledge, at least once a year, is a unique occasion to talk, compare procedures, techniques and equipments. Moreover we have the chance to dive together. You can’t ask more than that!

Where?
This time we will use an already scheduled Dive Show. The so called "DDE – Dynamic Dive Exhibition" which will take place in northern Italy, Major Lake. More precisely the place is called "MACCAGNO". Why inside the DDE – Dynamic Dive Exhibition?
We had some feedbacks asking the reason for a workshop INSIDE another big event like DDE. Last year the workshop 2007 was a success and we were able to gather the most famous and well known rebreather Divers, Instructor Trainers and extreme Divers showing the flag of the most important training agencies in Italy. The meeting was very interesting and nice, everything was done in an uncommon peaceful atmosphere. We were only rebreather users, so why are we changing the plan? Basically for logistics reasons. Last year we’ve been lucky – the workshop was in a sea site and the sea is seldom quiet and friendly. The DDE is taking place on a lake that, even if it is not as beautiful a diving site as a sea site, for sure it is available for diving all the event long. Everything is already organised. We will have conference rooms available for our meetings and a ready-made dive area free of charge for all divers, for all the event. So it will be cheaper. Moreover there will be lots of other divers, most of them using "old style" open circuit gears. We will be able to show those guys our fantastic machines, how they work and we can challenge them in the water, for fun of course :-). Instructors will have the chance to do try dives to those who will be eager to try the dark side of scuba diving and Agencies could have the chance to show how they teach new knowledge and skills to many people.

Another reason is to keep the number of shows to a minimum, especially for professionals. In these days in Italy we have the EUDI SHOW and during last weeks in Europe there were the Paris Dive Show, BOOTE Düsseldorf, Moscow Dive shows and others to come. Too many to be present to each one of those. The Workshop Rebreather is different because it was, is and it will be a Dynamic Event just like the DDE so the joint venture was natural.

Which is the program, what we will do?
Simply what we’ve done last year: Dives, conferences, meetings. This year we will have no limitation on dive profiles or on dive schedules since the water is next to the show, available for free to anyone, all day long till midnight. In the show several "Special Guests" had already confirmed their presence like Gigi Casati, Pim Van der Horst, Cedric Verdier. We don’t have a precise schedule of the event yet. It will be available in the future. Meanwhile feel free to give us a proposal; if you want to talk about a topic regarding rebreathers, their technology and their use, tell us and we will do our best to give you a slot to talk at the show.
